In late so felt like a lazy morn....
Lunch was deeeeelicious especially the red berry soup desert featuring our own mulberries.
Afternoon was quiet work time, with a cinema break on the televisual media.
John Ford's The Searchers has grown on me over the years. So many set ups are like Remington paintings. The story is simple and complex as is John Wayne's character, Ethan Edwards. He is not likeable but as solid and reliable as the Monument Valley locations.
Ford was a conservative and a "his way" patriot but his best narratives had a beautifully observed poetic truth, be the stories of IRA informers, Welsh coal miners, the Oakies or his hallmark Western epic heroes/anti heroes.
This evening I had the great pleasure of seeing one of my favourite people. At one point I called her Red, but now I think I'll have to call her Pink!
